Hyde Park 2016
About | Register | Logistics & Details | FAQs
Hyde Park holds a special place in the hearts of many Roosevelters. For a decade now, the beautiful and historic landscape of FDR’s home on the Hudson River has been the backdrop for powerful collaborations and ambitious schemes.
The 2016 election offers an exciting moment to bring our community together. The weekend is an opportunity to make new connections, reunite with old friends, and freshen up your intellectual and political chops.
Over the course of the weekend, we will pull on the spirit of Hyde Park to explore the challenges of our time – with the Roosevelters who are taking the lead to solve them – to strengthen the intellectual backbone of our generation.
We hope you will join us August 5-7, 2016 for one of the most creative and fun weekends of the year. Register now – spots are extremely limited.
In August 2015, the Roosevelt Institute hosted the first Alumni @ Hyde Park to serve as a foundational experience for re-engaging the network’s alumni. The first cohort included almost 60 alumni from 34 undergraduate chapters and every graduating class from 2006 to 2015.
In many ways, you should expect a quintessential Hyde Park experience – good-humored debates, enlightening conversations, and new connections. We plan to keep things low-key yet engaging from Friday evening’s welcome dinner to Sunday’s departure brunch. If we’ve learned one thing from ten years, it’s that we don’t need to over-direct the magic.
To keep things interesting, we will be throwing some of the Institute’s fellows into the mix, interactions with the current generation of students, and an overview of how we actually plan to ‘build Roosevelt as an intellectual home’ that revitalizes and drives our community for years to come.
Attendees will have a chance to share on their current obsessions and side projects with perspectives from the public sector, private sector, and academia. To round out the weekend, there will be down-time to socialize with old (and new) Roosevelt friends.
We’re excited to bring together a select group of Roosevelters for Alumni @ Hyde Park. Click here to register now!
Our invitees, including academics, politicos, policy wonks, and organizers, demonstrate how Roosevelters have continued to serve as trailblazers in their fields after graduation. Attendees can expect opportunities to discuss each other’s work across the country, debate economic policy with the Roosevelt Institute’s Fellows over dinner, and learn directly from current members about the Network’s ongoing projects.

Will this Hyde Park coincide with the annual student leadership summit in Hyde Park?
Yes, Roosevelt alumni and students will be in Hyde Park together. While the two gatherings are organized separately, there will be several formal and informal opportunities for alumni and students to meet and collaborate.
Is this conference open to people who haven’t done Roosevelt before?
This community is unique because of our shared experience as Roosevelters. In order to celebrate all the accomplishments of the last ten years and to continue to support our connectivity as a network, we are only allowing registrants with previous Roosevelt involvement.
Can I bring a car?
Yes! Attendees are welcome to drive to Hyde Park.
Do I have to attend the entire weekend (Friday dinner to Sunday brunch)?
No, you are not required to attend all three days (for those of you who cannot get off work to arrive in time for Friday dinner). However, it’s highly encouraged that you attend the whole weekend.
