The need for progressive networks like Roosevelt is more important than ever. January marked the first full year of Trump administration governance, characterized by the privatization of key public goods, attacks on our democratic institutions, increased criminalization of our most vulnerable communities, and the rollback of social safety net policies.

Join us at Alumni @ Hyde Park 2018 for a weekend of training, planning, and building. Over the course of the weekend, our alumni community will come together to think about how we can leverage the collective power of a network like ours to ensure not only that rules are getting rewritten, but that we’re changing who gets to write them.

We hope you will join us August 10-12th, 2018 for one of the most creative and fun weekends of the year. Register now!

Roosevelt has put rooms on hold for alumni at the Hyde Park Quality Inn at a rate of $127/night, which is within walking distance of the FDR Library and the Golden Manor. There are 16 rooms on hold, 13 that have 2 queen beds and can accommodate up to 4 people, 2 rooms with king beds, and one handicap room. Please call the general manager, Sam Patel, directly at 203-843-8820. Make sure to state you’re with the Roosevelt Institute when you book your room to get the promotional rate.

Attendees are also welcome to stay in one of the many bed and breakfasts or AirBnB options in the area. Two other hotels to look at include the Roosevelt Inn and the Journey Inn Bed and Breakfast which are located a mile north of the Library. We just ask that no alumni plan on staying in the Golden Manor which is reserved exclusively for student Hyde Park attendees. Please note: Roosevelt-provided transportation will be primarily servicing the FDR Library, the Quality Inn, and the locations of programming.

Housing Collaboration:  Once you register for Hyde Park, you will be added to the Alumni @ Hyde Park 2018 Facebook group, where you can communicate with friends and other attendees about sharing a room.

Hyde Park is easily accessible by train, with both Amtrak and Metro North serving the nearby train station in Poughkeepsie, NY. If you are flying, consider flights into NYC or Albany followed by a short train ride to Poughkeepsie. Additional travel logistics will be communicated upon registration.

Alumni @ Hyde Park starts with dinner on Friday, August 10 and concludes in the early afternoon on Sunday, August 12.
