Erick Konczyk

Erick C. Konczyk, Director of Finance, is an experienced financial manager with a substantial background in the nonprofit sector.  Recently, as the Director of Finance & Operations for Groundswell Community Mural Project, Inc., he was responsible for managing all areas of finance including: P&L review, variance analysis, revenue, expense, grant and donor reporting, general ledger, accounts payable and receivables, cash management, reconciliations, the annual fiscal audit, and the treasury functions. He was particularly effective in developing and implementing a collaborative budgeting process involving all areas of the organization enabling Groundswell’s full staff to understand and utilize the budget as a management tool. Moreover, while at Groundswell, Erick managed the IT and Facility needs of the organization.

Immediately prior to Groundswell Community Mural Project, Inc., Erick was the Senior Accountant & Operations Officer at the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise.  While at the Enterprise he developed budgets, managed and administered the institution’s full accounting cycle, and migrated the accounting system to the cloud. Erick spent 11 and ½ years at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in various finance roles. Erick began his nonprofit financial career at the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter and spent time at Bridge Property Management Company, both in San Francisco, CA. Erick earned his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. and his MS from Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment at The New School. He is also a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional with a certificate from Fiscal Management Associates in New York and serves as Board Treasurer for Fondation Femme Debut.

Erick currently lives in Brooklyn with his two dogs, Oliver and Isobel. He is an avid tennis fan and has been playing regularly for over 40 years. In his spare time, he loves to hop on his bicycle and explore all the nooks and crannies of NYC, read, and see good theater.
