Ambassador Levin was the 65th Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of the Netherlands (2009-2011). As Chief of Mission of an Embassy which included 15 federal agencies and 250 employees, her responsibilities included policy support, business advocacy, and public outreach.
Ambassador Levin was born in N.Y., the third daughter of Dutch immigrants. She attended Northwestern University (B.A.,Russian) and Loyola University School of Law (J.D.).As a lawyer, she represented public school districts and universities for over 20 years. She left the law practice to become Vice President of the Field Museum in Chicago.
Ambassador Levin and her husband, Daniel , reside in Winnetka, Ill. She has 2 children from a prior marriage, and 2 granddaughters.
