As Vice President of Communications, Gustavo Suarez is responsible for the development of Roosevelt’s communications strategy and manages communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's mission, brand, and reputation. He joined Roosevelt in April 2019. Gustavo previously served as director of communications at the Guttmacher Institute, managing director of media relations at Planned Parenthood Federation, and director of communications at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Prior to entering the nonprofit world, he was a foreign service officer for the US Department of State where he worked in the press offices of embassies in New Delhi, Tel Aviv, and Rome and at the New York Foreign Press Center. He holds a BA in history from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
