Nia Skinner-Miller is a Forge Fellow with the Roosevelt Institute, graduate of Mott Middle college on Mott Community College campus and rising junior at Mott. She is majoring in Political Science with a Minor in Linguistics and a concentration in International Studies. On campus, she is President of the Feminist League and Vice President of Service for Phi Theta Kappa. After receiving two associates degrees and a high school diploma, she is intending to stay at Mott for two more semesters, become a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Puerto Rico, where she previous studied abroad, and transfer to Georgetown University. With a strong sense of social justice activism, this has led her to begin to give back to her community through non-profit organizations like Edible Flint, YWCA and many more around the city of Flint. In the near future, Nia hopes to start a non-profit, work with a state representative, and continue to give back to her community.
