Johanna (Jo) Bonewitz has built a career on the essential facets of successful event management and fundraising — a passion for people, a flair for entertaining, and an eye for the big picture while also mastering the fine details. She brings a broad range of experience to Roosevelt, gained from years in the non-profit world and beyond. As Director of Development at Sing for Hope, she managed and executed a wide range of campaigns and special events including the Sing for Hope Pianos, the initiative that places pianos throughout the streets of New York each summer. Prior to transitioning to the non-profit world, Jo managed the special events at Per Se restaurant.
Jo holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and thoroughly enjoys merging her arts background with her fundraising and event skills in service of Roosevelt’s mission. She lives in Brooklyn and regularly performs musicals in her living room with her husband as the accompanist.
