Roosevelt @ George Washington University

Roosevelt @ GW is part of a national network of over 10,000 emerging leaders actively engaging on college campuses and in communities to re-imagine and rewrite the rules.

A student-led think tank and act tank, Roosevelt @ GW  engages students in solutions-based progressive activism that empowers their ideas for change. Founded in 2003, and re-established in 2013, Roosevelt @ GW encourages its members to focus on local policy change at George Washington University and in Washington DC. Members join one of our six Policy and Advocacy Centers (PACs), and work with other Roosevelters to write and implement good policy.

Over the past two years, our chapter has focused on making our university a better community partner. From successfully encouraging our university to shift some of its cash into local community development banks, to convening progressive student groups in a coalition to advocate for culturally-sensitive university police practices, we are getting results to make our campus and in our city better for everyone.
