Mayuri Chaturvedi

Visiting Fellow

Mayuri is a Visiting Fellow at the Roosevelt Institute and a Postdoctoral Scholar at Columbia University. She conducts research on economic inequality and its relationship with rent-seeking behavior. Her interest in inequality spans wage inequality arising from market imperfection, gender inequality as a result of social norms, and education inequality. She works with developing as well as developed country datasets.

Mayuri completed her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine in 2017 with a specialization in Development and Political Economy. She has worked with New-Delhi based environmental NGO Chintan to reduce air pollution in the city. Her field experiment with Chintan was featured by the University of Chicago’s Urban Labs New Delhi Challenge as one of the top seven projects for curbing pollution in the city.
