As the Director of Operations at the Roosevelt Institute, Debarati Ghosh collaborates with colleagues across departments on operations and internal communications projects.
Prior to joining Roosevelt, Ghosh was Editor/Publications Manager for Joseph E. Stiglitz at Columbia University. She managed and developed content for all of Prof. Stiglitz’s writings and presentations, working with a team of researchers and editors. This included the books Globalization and Its Discontents Revisited and The Euro; over 100 articles and op-eds for major media outlets; and some 70 academic papers in top journals. She also developed presentations and preparation for Prof. Stiglitz’s prominent speaking engagements and participated in events, domestically in Washington, DC, and New York City and internationally in Kenya, India, Austria, and Germany.
Prior to this, she was with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). As Managing Editor, she was the head of two major publications, Country Commerce and Country Finance, and worked with some 30 in-country correspondents, editors, and copy editors—a team which she built and managed. In both the EIU and Columbia University, she collaborated on projects with government agencies, multilateral organizations, nonprofit organizations including think tanks, and universities.
Ghosh holds a master’s in international affairs from Columbia University and a BA in sociology from Drew University.
