Roosevelt @ NYC is a cohort of diverse emerging leaders who focus on finding policy solutions that align with the concerns of New York City students, particularly those within the City University of New York systems.
The chapter meets biweekly in Manhattan to discuss current events and challenges related to student life in New York. We draw from those discussions to craft policy solutions with an emphasis on student perspectives. Because of the chapter’s involvement in educational spaces throughout the city, our largest policy interests include: MTA fare reduction for city students, addressing structural issues and delays; advocating for city students struggling to attend university because of increasing tuition and fees; and ensuring that the City University of New York receives ample funding from the State so that both community college and four year students in NYC benefit from the resources they need to succeed.
