Madison Black

Roosevelt Network Emerging Fellow

The Emerging Fellowship is an academic-year long opportunity in which undergraduate students engage in deep research and writing skills training—concluding with the publication of a research product.

Madison Black is a fourth-year political science student at the University of Iowa. She is also pursuing a Master of Public Affairs degree from the same university. In addition to being an Emerging Fellow, Madison has also written for PolitiFact Iowa and has been an intern with the Iowa City Foreign Relations Council for two years. Madison’s primary policy interests are immigration and women’s reproductive rights. In the future, she hopes to continue to do policy work for a non-profit organization that aligns with her interests and values. In her free time, Madison enjoys baking new recipes, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and taking care of her cat, Bongo.
