Matthew Nowling

Donor Engagement Manager

Matthew Nowling is the donor engagement manager at the Roosevelt Institute. He works closely with the development team, executive team, and other senior staff at Roosevelt to ensure best-in-class cultivation and stewardship for Roosevelt’s funders and prospects.

As the donor engagement manager at the Roosevelt Institute, Matthew is responsible for developing and executing donor cultivation and stewardship strategies, staffing principals for meetings and events, prospecting, grant writing, running annual appeals, and other related activities. 

Matthew previously served as national development manager at America Votes, development and donor relations associate at the Brady Center for Prevent Gun Violence, and finance assistant on Montana Governor Steve Bullock’s presidential campaign.

Matthew  was also heavily involved in progressive youth engagement efforts, serving as the interim national president of the College Democrats of America; Midwest Regional, Ohio College Network lead at Swing Left; president of the College Democrats of Ohio; Chair of Ohio Students for Biden; and Midwestern Regional lead on the Biden for President Student Leadership Council. 

Matthew graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, with a BA in political science and as a Distinguished Leadership Award recipient.
