Mayukh Datta

Roosevelt Network Emerging Fellow

The Emerging Fellowship is an academic-year long opportunity in which undergraduate students engage in deep research and writing skills training—concluding with the publication of a research product.

Mayukh Datta is a senior studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Economics at Mississippi State University (MSU). At MSU, Mayukh is the founder of the MSU Chapter of the Roosevelt Network and the MSU Chapter of the Climate Reality Project, a student-led organization that advocates for climate equity on campus. He is also the co-founder and co-director of Feeding the Future Mississippi, a nonprofit that combats food and educational insecurity in the Mississippi Delta. As an Emerging Fellow, Mayukh hopes to research household water and sewer affordability in Mississippi and Alabama. He hopes to attend graduate school for environmental economics so that he can return to Mississippi to focus on environmental justice advocacy.
