In 2017, Roosevelt built the Re: Public Project to fight for accessible, equitable, and transparent public goods by strengthening our public institutions and fighting the trend of privatization. Now, we’re looking to connect our policy writing efforts, through 10 Ideas, with this bold vision. That’s why we’re launching Policy Challenges to push Roosevelters across the country to work with local campaigns and organizations devoted to pushing for the common good.
Below, we outline the seven cities- New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Charlotte- where Roosevelt partners have built campaigns to either strengthen public institutions or challenge the privatization of local goods. In each of the city coalitions below, our partners on the ground are actively seeking policy ideas and research analysis from students like you to strengthen their existing campaigns.
Students participating in Policy Challenges will have the opportunity to connect directly with Roosevelt partners on their ground and channel their research, organizing, and advocacy skills to existing coalition efforts. And, Roosevelters submitting to 10 Ideas with Policy Challenge ideas will have their ideas reviewed directly by Roosevelt’s policy coordinators and national staff.
