Ilona Kramer

As the chief operating officer, Ilona supports the institute and executive team. She is tasked with shepherding the organization’s strategic projects, delivering critical work related to the Roosevelt Institute’s executive team and board, and strengthening organizational operations and internal communications.

Ilona started her career in campaign finance reform; worked for the New York City Council and the mayor of Boston; and most recently was chief of staff at Moms Demand Action, the nation’s largest grassroots gun violence prevention organization. She holds a master’s in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy and a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University. Ilona cofounded the Wesleyan chapter of the Roosevelt Network in 2006. She appeared on an episode of Sesame Street when she was 5, but has kept a low profile since then.
