Jana Morgan is professor of political science at Rutgers University. Her two award-winning books and numerous journal articles examine issues of inequality, exclusion, and representation across the Americas with a particular focus on ways democracies have failed to confront entrenched hierarchies and how these defects have significant costs for the stability and survival of democratic regimes. She has held residential fellowships at the Kellogg Institute at Notre Dame, the Russell Sage Foundation, and the Wilson Center in Washington, DC.
