As the national director, Katie leads the network with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and changing who writes the rules within our own organization. She is responsible for network growth, policy work, and alumni engagement through the management of network team members and for short-term and long-term network strategy.
Prior to this role, Katie was a program manager and program associate on the network team, assisting with chapter growth and membership development, building the network’s training curriculum, and leading the team’s operations work. During college, Katie spent four years working with Kid Power, Inc.; served as the chapter head at Roosevelt @ American; and was a member of multiple campus organizing efforts including Education not Debt and Fossil Free AU. Katie has a BA in public communications and urban education studies from American University.
