As the Regional Engagement Director at the Roosevelt Institute’s Southern Economic Advancement Project (SEAP), Castillo is responsible for coordinating local programming to bring SEAP to the community. Most recently, Castillo has created specific programming for youth engagement, Black farmer resources, and food insecurity donations. Castillo is also the coordinator of the SEAP internship program.
Prior to joining Roosevelt, Castillo’s professional experience included being COO of BLUE Institute, the premier training program to prepare more young people of color for the leadership of electoral campaigns in the South and Southwest. During the 2018 campaign cycle, Castill served as the Latinx Constituency Director through the Democratic Party of Georgia’s Coordinated Campaign. Castillo was the Director of Caucus Services and developed one of the nation’s most successful state legislative caucus internship programs from 2011 to 2017 for the Georgia House Democratic Caucus. Castillo is an alum of Berry College and the University of Chicago.
